Decorating Homes in West Jordan
With thousands of new homes built across West Jordan in recent years, demand for furniture and decor has soared. Homeowners want spaces that reflect their personality while standing up to the realities of busy family life. Many draw inspiration from Utah's natural beauty, incorporating warm woods, stone textures, and earthy tones reminiscent of the Wasatch and Oquirrh mountains.
Shopping is convenient too. Jordan Landing, the Mountain View Village area, and nearby retail centers in Sandy, Draper, and Murray place dozens of home decor brands within a short drive, while online retailers deliver directly to the doorstep.
How to Choose a Decor Brand
Consider your style, budget, and quality expectations. Some brands specialize in heirloom-quality furniture, while others offer affordable, trend-driven accents. Look at material quality, delivery and assembly services, return policies, and design consultation options. Mixing brands often produces the most personal, layered look.

Decorating Tips
Start with large anchor pieces like sofas and rugs before choosing accessories. Layer lighting with ambient, task, and accent sources. Use mirrors to brighten rooms during short winter days. Bring the outdoors in with plants suited to dry indoor air, and invest in quality where it matters most, such as seating and mattresses, while saving on decorative accents.
Shopping Local and Supporting Utah Makers
While national brands dominate the decor market, many West Jordan residents also enjoy discovering local makers and boutiques. Gardner Village in the city is a charming historic shopping destination featuring specialty shops, seasonal events, and unique home accents that are hard to find elsewhere. Utah artisans offer handcrafted pottery, woodwork, textiles, and art inspired by the state's landscapes. Mixing these one-of-a-kind pieces with furniture from larger retailers creates spaces with genuine character.
Seasonal markets and craft fairs held across the Salt Lake Valley also provide opportunities to find handmade decor while supporting the local economy.
